Quality Control Policy
Someone other than the set-up person shall verify and record the following on the Job Tracker before proceeding with the manufacturing process:
1. Check the first article of each operation on each production process
2. Verify that all dimensional tolerances comply with the customers’ supplied drawing
3. Initial the Job Tracker as being first article approved and quality checked
After the first article has been quality checked the machine operator assumes responsibility for parts being dimensionally correct thereafter and will monitor to assure compliance.
Parts with critical dimensions having + .001 tolerance or less are checked as often as every part to assure quality, accuracy, and customer confidence that parts have been made to their specifications.
Apex Machining Company will assume no responsibility of parts machined incorrectly due to erroneous information on customer’s drawing/specifications.
Statistical Dimensional Verification Reporting
A Statistical Quality Verification Report will be provided when the customer requests. The customer will determine the required frequency of parts to be quality verified and reported.
The cost for this report, if requested by the customer, will be determined and provided with our quote.
Overrun Parts
Apex Machining does not generally maintain an inventory of completed machined parts for any customer. If overrun parts are manufactured, the customer will be given the opportunity to purchase them. Overrun parts not purchased may be destroyed and discarded or will be placed in storage at the discretion of Apex Machining. If stored, parts will be packaged to prevent deterioration, labeled tracing all manufacturing documents, and placed in a segregated parts area.
Non-Conforming Parts
If a non-conformance occurs, all parts having that feature will be 100% inspected to ensure that parts conform to customer drawing/specifications before continuing with the next operation of machining.
Apex Machining will destroy and dispose of all verified non-conforming parts.
Customer Inspections
A customer may request an appointment to assess the quality of the contracted parts during the manufacturing process.
Control of Records
All pertinent manufacturing records will be retained on file, as historical data, for a period of seven (7) years, or as required by the customer’s contract or purchase order.
Quality Assurance Policy – Notification of Changes
Any changes to these policies will be posted immediately to this website.
